3. Tumor surgery guidance: ICG-MAL can be used as a fluorescent guidance agent to help surgeons accurately locate and remove tumors. For example, researchers injected ICG-MAL-labeled octreotide into a patient's neuroendocrine tumor and guided the surgery through fluorescence microscope imaging, successfully removing the tumor and preserving normal tissues, avoiding unnecessary damage in the surgery.
